Making exercise for people with disabilities fun!
Exercising is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your physical and mental health, especially for people with disabilities. There are so many advantages you can get from this including helping boost your mood, easing depression, relieving stress and anxiety, enhancing your self-esteem, and improving your whole well-being.
However, exercise for people with disabilities can be quite challenging due to specific barriers like lack of motivation, high costs, and an unwelcoming atmosphere in traditional gyms. A whopping 72% of adults in Australia with a disability do not engage in enough physical activity. But thanks to Easy Exercising, disability doesn’t mean you can’t exercise. You can still get your life on track through a wonderful community and easy exercises that help you improve your mobility without pain and intimidation.
Easy exercise for adults with disabilities – why it works
Normal exercise can be challenging and even painful for some adults with disabilities, but it does not have to be. It’s important that exercise for people with disabilities is safe, manageable, and enjoyable. This means that adults with disabilities can still get the best health benefits from exercising even with health conditions or mobility concerns that limit their basic routine or quality of life.
How is this possible? Through Easy Exercising’s power-assisted machines.
Our Power-assisted exercise machines use resistance and weight to help you perform exercises without having to use as much physical effort. This can make working out easier and less strenuous for adults with disabilities or people who have limited physical ability. By reducing the strain on the muscles and joints, these machines can help you improve your strength and flexibility, build muscle, and get in shape.
The power-assisted machines are developed in consultation with doctors and physiologists – and used by physiotherapists and rehabilitation facilities around the world. Unlike other exercise equipment that can strain the body, they are designed to offer an effective all-round exercise regime that is kinder to the joints.
This is suitable for NDIS participants and disabled people who feel uncomfortable within a traditional gym environment. The aim is to support active exercise for people with disabilities and those living with a wide range of long-term health conditions. In fact, these power-assisted machines are changing the lives of many adults with disabilities, including NDIS participants.
“We’ve been here for three weeks and we’ve noticed that we can stand up for longer periods” says Fiona. “I have lost a little bit more weight too. We have come to Easy Exercising because it’s actually a good socializing community, and because we always have a good laugh. It’s a great community… Very relaxing!”
Exercise even if you can’t walk
With Easy Exercising’s unique power-assisted machines, you can reach your fitness goals without going through the pain and discomfort of the gym. They do the exercise for you so that you can safely get to your goals as easily as possible – without breaking much sweat. It is like driving the electric car, Tesla. It can take you to your destination without you steering the wheel.
Our machines do all the work so all you need to do is sit back and relax. But even better than the machines is the presence of an inclusive community that helps you achieve the benefits of exercise without feeling intimidated. We work with physios and chiropractors to determine the exercises you need and our machines then make sure that these exercises are correctly carried out. Also, every NDIS session is carefully supervised.
